After failing to successfully launch Battlefield V, Electronic Arts was forced to cut down its guidance for the full fiscal year that ends this month. In order to fix the situation, the company released Anthem and Apex Legends in February. While Anthem had a mixed launch, Apex Legends quickly became one of the most popular games of the first half of this year and it seems that the free-to-play title will be able to create additional shareholder value in the long run, since its material net bookings have not been modeled into the company’s FY19 guidance.
